FIRST THERE WAS HAIR, THEN 10 YEARS LATER CAME RUNAWAYS.

Elizabeth Swados' RUNAWAYS is a landmark musical about the stories, fears, and fantasies of runaway children. Channeling the energy of today’s New York, RUNAWAYS brings to life the story of young people searching to find themselves. This much-celebrated show has gone on to become a pillar of the musical theater canon and inspired a generation of musical theater creators, including Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, In the Heights), Jeanine Tesori (Fun Home, Caroline or Change), Michael Friedman (Fortress of Solitude, Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson) and many other Public Theater artists.

This production was initially produced by New York City Center's Encores! Off-Center in July 2016.

RUNAWAYS is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
