"The greater the success, the higher the expectations."

It has been estimated that his brand has touched one out of every six people on Earth, but what do you know about him?

From the man behind the smash hit Anna Wintour, Andy Cohen and Martha Stewart musicals comes a story about one of the most famous names in the world.

Inspired by the modern classic film, Black Swan, "The Obsession of Calvin Klein" explores the (somewhat fictionalized) madness that oftentimes goes hand-in-hand with the gift of creativity. Set to reworked versions of popular hits from the past four decades and interwoven with Tchaikovsky's haunting Swan Lake.

Obsessed with a crushing paranoia that childhood friend and fellow mega-designer Ralph Lauren is intent on sabotage, Calvin Klein and henchwoman Donna Karan scheme to ensure the continued reign over his black and white empire.

Stageplay and parody lyrics by Ryan Raftery. Directed by Jay Turton. Musical Direction by Christopher Littlefield. Choreography by Jason Wise. Wig design by Marty Thomas.

"...Twisted genius..." – The New York Times
"A one man musical juggernaut." – New York Daily News
"Ryan Raftery is a force of nature all his own." – Interview Magazine
“Raftery's latest musical is a winning satirical comedy and fashion history lesson intertwined with Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake… Just like Klein's ubiquitous underwear… Raftery's clever, campy production has mass appeal.” Papermag

The October 28th performance of The Obsession of Calvin Klein is proudly sponsored by Showtime, as part of The Showtime Salon Series.  The Showtime Salon Series is a yearlong, curated series of monthly performances (at Joe's Pub) that celebrate LGBTQ+ communities and their creative expressions.
